This conceptual office/lab development along the busy Mystic Avenue corridor in Eastern Somerville included a significant civic pocket plaza to benefit not only the employees at this future building, but the surrounding densely developed urban area. Small civic spaces, such as this, are a part of Somerville’s urban regeneration efforts to transform the city into an even more vibrant community. This Pocket Plaza offered greenery, interaction with the local makers and art scene, and an ecological foothold for urban wildlife.
