24 Drydock Plaza

The plaza at 24 Drydock will be a modern landscape that also embraces the history of the adjacent drydock in the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park in the Seaport. The plaza design incorporates ramps and steps for universal access to the multiple terraced patios and into the proposed office/lab building and lunch counter as well as a connection to and from Drydock Avenue. In addition to housing new lab and educational tenants, the primary uses of the building will be the active Boston Ship Repair Company who utilize the Drydock. The landscape design also considers South Boston’s lack of a tree canopy, and incorporates numerous new tree plantings. The site will feature public realm improvements including a blue bike station, widened sidewalks, new street trees and a rehabilitated Tide Street Park at the adjacent Drydock overlook.
