Verdant Landscape Architecture is working with Rick Schmidt Architect to design a residential building in Mattapan, Massachusetts at a former single story commercial use building. As the city undergoes zoning reform to address the housing crisis, the team has worked to develop a plan that responds to the city’s needs under the ‘Squares and Streets’ zoning. The project boasts generous streetscape improvements along Rosewood Street and Cummins Highway which include street trees, permeable paved furnishing zones and visitor bike racks. The project aims to merge the Cummins Highway Project’s streetscape improvements with those proposed on site to improve accessibility and connection.
