Verdant Landscape Architecture is working with Brightview Senior Living on a new assisted living facility at the former site of St. Helen’s Church in Norwell.

This project is in early permitting process. The current site plan shows an H shaped building configuration forms a central drop off front yard and three large partially enclosed amenity courtyards.  Two surface parking areas are located at the east and west portions of the site. Buffers along the edges to the residential abutters will be an important component of the design. Additionally, there is a desire to mitigate views of the cemetery across the street to the south. This may include proposing plantings along the cemetery frontage to help buffer direct views of this use from the senior living. A wastewater treatment plant is also indicated to the north/rear of the site development, presumably to serve the new development. The wooded area to the north may be able to be developed as secondary trails for able-bodied residents or possibly for neighborhood access
